Nabbed from bas_math_girl: I Write Like...

Okay, this is weird. I put in text from one WIP, titled The Cornered Storm, and got...

I write like
Stephen King

I Write Like. Analyze your writing!

But when I put in text from another new story, The Impossible Girl's New Journey, I got...

I write like
Charles Dickens

I Write Like. Analyze your writing!

And when I tried from yet another WIP, My Own Way, I got...

I write like
Gertrude Stein

I Write Like. Analyze your writing!

Am I a writing chameleon or something?

LOL, I did the same thing last night. I got at least one result several times consistently for different stories, but when I put different chapters of the same story into the thing, I got 5 different results. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing...

I say it just proves this thing is just for fun. :)

And I had to use this icon in response to yours. :D

Oh, I think there's a little something behind it. I pasted a bit of the fanfic 50 Shades of Gray was based off of into it, and it gave Stephenie Meyer as the result, lol.

Love the Doctor's pouty face, though.

Yep. Me too. I got James Joyce, Ian Fleming (for part of the latest chapter of "Voices of Gallifrey") and Rudyard Kipling of all people (for part of "Donna in Underland" - and I was so hoping for Lewis Carroll!!)

As I told BMG, the interesting part is that none of them were American!!

Hmm... I don't know what mine days about me and my writing. :)

I tried sampling some smut and got Anne Rice (which apparently happens almost every time).

Blimey! At least you didn't get any lightweights with yours. But it does show up how believable this little exercise this is. ;)

Who else is a known smut writer? Just curious.

I got Chuck Palahniuk when I put in my smuttier stuff. Almost every time. I did also get Anne Rice as a result, too. What really creeped me out was when I put in the first chapter of In Fairness To Me- and got Dan Brown. So apparently my forced alien sex scenes read like searching for the Holy Grail...?

Something I didn't think about before though is that quite a lot of the stories I used were things I did for NaNoWriMo this past November-and I specifically had made a goal of writing as many pairings as I could that I hadn't done before, so a lot of it was kind of out of the box/comfort zone for me. So that might be why the results are schizophrenic-the stories are all different pairings, different moods. Still, it's an interesting little tool, innit?
