Good news

Fever broke earlier this afternoon. Or was it late morning? Eh, I tried staying in bed, sweating. Seemed to do the trick. My throat doesn't hurt as much and I'm no longer chilled. Now I'm just sweating, but it's almost like the kind I can get when it's not exactly cool here.

Am about to head out and get more food. Maybe I'll sit down and get some writing done. Practice for the write-ins for NaNo. Hey, I haven't really gone out by myself since I got my windshield fixed. (Yay to Safelite!)

Thanks for letting me vent a little.

I am glad you're feeling better. =) Being sick is no fun and no bueno. I just spent this past week with a UTI and an allergic reaction to the first antibiotic I was given.

But ugh to the post fever sweat. For some reason that is the most disgusting part of being sick to me. =P

Oh, lordy... My mom had something like that happen to her. Only her reaction took several days to manifest: rashes on various parts of her body. I called Dad before I took her right to the family doc who prescribed her antibiotic (they do take walk-ins, but I called ahead anyway). I had to dress for work just in case (Dad took over so I could get to work on time), and the Doctor confirmed it was an allergic reaction. Mercifully the infection was gone, so all he had to do was give her something to counter the reaction. It was pretty scary to check on her and find those rashes.

Have they found a better one for you? Is the infection gone?

My jim-jams were still damp when I checked on them a few hours ago. Had to toss them into the hamper and choose new ones. I really wonder if I should treat this as a preview of what menopause might be like. o.O

Yeah, it's gone. Took the last antibiotic pill this morning. When hubby gets paid on Friday I have to order a new medic alert tag, so I can add sulfa medication allergy to the penicillin allergy. I didn't get a rash this time like I did when I discovered the penicillin allergy. I ended up short of breath, and really sick right away after taking the sulfa med, then during the night canker sores developed in my throat. That was...fun. Got a different one and that one did the job.

I don't think I'll be able to tell when I'm in menopause, as every month I seem to not be able to control my temp. I hate those too. Night sweats. Yick.
