*sickly groan* The saga continues....

My throat is still sore, enough that it hurts to swallow. Hot liquids like soup hurt like hell to swallow, cold things like fruit smoothies less so. Water hurts no matter the temp. Cough drops aren't comfy to swallow the melting parts, either. And I can feel from the outside that something's going on with my throat - there are very sore spots about where my lymph nodes are, if I'm not mistaken. And sleep is still interrupted constantly, although not so much from coughing. (I'll take that small blessing.)

So as soon as it's the right hour I'm going to my dentist and begging for a quick referral to a GP or family doc who could get me in ASAP. (My dad pointed out that a regular doc is probably cheaper than an urgent care visit. Sometimes those are treated in the same category as emergency room visits.) Which unfortunately means waiting another two hours. D:

While I'm not the praying type, I would appreciate every kind and healthy thought that can be spared my way. This has gone on too long and I'm sick of feeling sick. Hope the doctor can locate something to help, and quickly.

Definitely time for a doctor or nurse practitioner to handle this. You've been treating the symptoms well, and trying to allow it to run its course if it were viral. After that point, if it isn't getting better, time to go to the doctor. Make sure you tell them you've had this for a bit and tried to let it run its course. At this point, it may be bacterial and your body just is overwhelmed, so it needs help. (Some bacterial infections can clear without antibiotics, which is why the wait and see was a good idea, and viral infections, of course, do not respond to antibiotics and shouldn't be treated with them.)

You just moved recently, right? Which is why you don't yet have a doctor. I don't know about where you are located, but many stores like Target, or pharmacies like Walgreens or CVS have clinics that are great for just this sort of thing, if you get there when they open. At that time, there is usually very little in the way of lines, and they do take your insurance as a regular sick visit. In addition, if you need any meds, the pharmacy is right there. The other advantage is that they are open on Sundays, so you don't have to wait an extra day to get treated.

Keep us posted, and I really hope you get better soon.

It almost sounds like strep throat. Get thee to a doctor, woman! You need some antibiotics to knock it out of you. Feel better soon!
